The Price of Public
Health Care Insurance in Canada
Excerpt: Canadians often misunderstand the true cost of
their public health care system. This occurs partly because Canadians do not
incur direct expenses for their use of health care and partly because Canadians
cannot readily determine the value of their contribution to public health care
insurance, say Nadeem Esmail and Milagros Palacios of the Fraser Institute. In
2013, the estimated average payment for public health care insurance will range
from $3,387 to $11,381 for Canadian families, depending on the type of family.
For the average Canadian family, between 2003 and 2013 the cost of public
health care insurance increased more than 1.5 times faster than the cost of
shelter and clothing, more than twice as fast as food, and nearly 1.5 times
faster than average income. The 10 percent of Canadian families with the lowest
incomes will pay an average of about $482 for public health care insurance in

streets.” If that were what it was about, the seizure of 8,000 guns over 10

condescension?
Comment: White condescension is the assumption that black
people must be treated with deference. It is this ridiculous belief that I am
entitled to special treatment. It leads to things like Affirmative Action;
the white liberal way of saying blacks can’t compete. I dislike it when white
liberals; still living in the 60's feel this need to treat me with kid gloves
because of my skin color. I hate it when people think I must be handled
carefully. Yes, some of my ancestors were slaves, but that does not entitle me
to preferential treatment. What I want is to be treated like a human being;
i.e. allowed to fulfill by God given potential. Don't exclude me because of my
color, but don't treat me like I am special.

Saudi Arabia is
thought to have been heavily involved in President Morsi’s ouster, partly due

have certainly profited from a major gain of sympathy from both the Egyptian
street and the international community, the fact that they engaged in violence
– attacking three Coptic churches — killed their credibility. Also placing
women and children at the front of the protests, as potential human shields,

“entrenched military regime” of 30-plus years for attacking churches, women and
