Heller Opposes Funding for New IRS Agents
Intends to introduce bill to suspend IRS funding until behavior improves
(Washington, D.C.) – In light of reports that the IRS deliberately targeted conservative groups, U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) today declared that he opposed funding additional IRS agents for the implementation of ObamaCare. In a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, Heller stated that, if necessary, he will introduce legislation to suspend IRS funding for new agents until concerns about the IRS’ behavior are addressed.
The President’s budget requested that about $440 million be diverted to the IRS for the purpose of enforcing the President’s healthcare law.
