2. Gov. Kasich Enlists Socialized Medicine Lobbyists to Help Implement Obamacare
Governor John Kasich worked with the far-left Universal Health Care Action Network of Ohio (UHCAN Ohio) to build his case for Medicaid expansion, a central piece of President Obama’s Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). Washington Post blogger Sarah Kliff detailed Kasich’s strategy in a February 6 Wonkblog entry.
“Rather than having to convince the governor, Obamacare supporters were asked to focus their efforts on convincing businesses and legislators,” Kliff explained in her story, which was titled, “How Ohio’s Republican governor sold the state on expanding Medicaid.”
While the Kasich administration publicly insisted no decision had been made, UHCAN Ohio Executive Director Cathy Levine “was in regular contact with the governors’ [sic] office, sharing different budget assumptions, as to ensure they would all land near the same place.”. . . please click here for the rest of the post →
3. Christopher Dorner Fan Clubs Are Beyond Detestable.
Christopher Dorner wanted to exact revenge for the fact that he had been fired from the LAPD. He apparently believed that the murders of Monica Quan and Keith Lawrence were necessary, yet not sufficient to fulfill that requirement. He hadn’t exacted true revenge until he called up Monica Quan’s father, Randall Quan, and taunted him about how easy it was to shoot his daughter. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
4. Douglas County’s GOP Blocks GA Black Republican Chair from being a County Delegate
It’s not often I get to write about happenings in my old neck of the woods, but that’s a fact of life when you were born and raised in a relatively sleepy suburban county of metro Atlanta. Still, don’t let the “sleepy” bit fool you; once you peel back that layer, you find the same kinds of political gamesmanship and good ol’ boy network shenanigans that exist everywhere else.

Apparently, 1st Vice Chair of the Douglas County Republican Part Michael McNeely, who is also the Chairman of the Georgia Black Republican Council, has been blocked from being a delegate to the county’s GOP Convention by county GOP Board Member Jack Gamel. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
5. Banning Gays From The Prom
While anti-discrimination laws prevent gay students from being excluded from school activities, a group of students, parents and a teacher are hoping to do just that. According to Paige Preusse of NBC 2, At Sullivan High School, in Sullivan, Indiana, the group will be creating a separate prom that will ban gay students from attending.
