Leftists Pushing Biden to Counter GOP Voting Rules Which Reduce Fraud (Leftists know no Democrat could win an election without stealing it!)

Civil Rights Groups Pushing Biden to Counter GOP Voting Rules

Top civil rights groups are urging the Biden administration to push Congress and pass the voting rules as a counterattack to Republican voting laws.

Top civil rights groups visited White House, discussed with Biden, Harris counterattack against Republican-led voting rules

On Wednesday, leaders from top civil rights groups went to the White House. In so doing, they urged Biden and his administration to take action and pass the voting legislation. This comes as an apparent effort to counterattack Republicans’ effort to tighten rules on voting.

Reverend Al Sharpton, president of the National Action Network, stated that a group of eight people discussed with Harris and Biden the counterattack plan against the efforts made by Republicans.

After the meeting with Biden and Harris, Sharpton told reporters that if they do not put the “street heat on,” it will not happen. He added that they informed Biden-Harris that the action is not coming from the White House. Instead, it should originate from Congress.

The civil rights groups alleged that Congress has to pass the “John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act” as well as the “For the People Act” to fight against what they referred to as “targeted attacks” from Republicans against minority voters.

Marc Morial, the leader of the National Urban League, also accused Republicans of making a concerted effort to “subdue” the vote of brown people, black people, young people, those who are disabled, as well as others who live with great disadvantages in America.

On the other hand, Republicans deny allegations that they are trying to suppress the black vote. The GOP lawmakers also added that imposing stricter voting practices and certain identification requirements will prevent future voting fraud.

Democrats alarmed at Supreme Court upholding Arizona’s new voting law requirements

The meeting of top civil rights officials at the White House comes a week after the Supreme Court upheld the new voting requirements in Arizona.

In a 6-3 ruling, the Supreme Court found that the voting laws imposed by Arizona did not suppress the rights of minority voters. Instead, it reflected the usual burdens and responsibilities that come with the right to vote.

However, Democrats argued that the Republican-led voting rules nationwide are an effort to undermine the voting rights of Americans, particularly in the upcoming midterm elections in 2022.

President of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Sherrilyn Ifill, called the voting rules a “threat” to black citizenship and political participation.

Ifill added that Biden should use his voice, influence, and power and see what he understands at this moment. He also added that the meeting at the White House was “constructive.” However, there were no further comments about how Biden plans to work with Congress to pass the major voting laws led by Democrats.
