What drove Edward Snowden to go on-the-record with allegedly-classified information about the scope and breadth of what is quite-clearly illegal spying on US Citizens?

Is it really that hard to figure out? It was his boss, James Clapper, who quite-clearly perjured himself by blatantly lying in an open session of Congress:

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper is really struggling to explain why he told Congress in March (see video above) that the National Security Agency does not intentionally collect any kind of data on millions of Americans. His latest take: It’s an unfair question, he said, like “When are you going to stop beating your wife?” And it seems to depend on the meaning of “collect.”

“I responded in what I thought was the most truthful, or least untruthful, manner by saying ‘no,’” Clapper told NBC News on Sunday.

Clapper lied. He could have (truthfully) refused to answer, stating that “for national security reasons this question can only be answered in a classified, closed session” or similar — but he did not.

I'm so thankful that Governor Sandoval has listened to the thousands of Nevadans who have contacted his office urging him to oppose SB221. Less than an hour ago Governor Sandoval vetoed this bill.

Senate Bill 221 hits home for me. Not only would this gun control legislation negatively impact law-abiding Nevadans from one end of the state to the other, I am appalled to hear about the hundreds of thousands of dollars the New York based, Mayor Bloomberg funded Mayors Against Illegal Guns spent in Nevada to buy this vote. Even more, they flooded our Legislators and Governor with calls from people who live across the country, claiming to speak for Nevadans.

But Nevadans pushed back. The Governor's office is reporting thousands of calls urging him to veto SB221, and for every call in support, there were four calls opposed. This is what we call public outcry.

So many conservatives have been dancing around the issue of Senator Marco Rubio’s collaboration with Chuck Schumer to pass comprehensive immigration reform.

We have blamed his staff. We have blamed Democrats. We all like and respect the Senator, even if we disagree on this issue. We do not want to blame him for the mess the GOP now finds itself in holding a legislative tiger by the tail.

But having, by virtue of my radio show, listened over and over to those awful pro-immigration reform ads between my monologues, I think we need to stop playing games.
