The House of Representatives is currently debating H.R. 2584, a bill to appropriate funds to the Department of the Interior for FY2012.
Rep. Rob Bishop of Utah will offer an amendment to this bill that would protect national forests and parks along the border from being overrun by illegal aliens by allowing immigration enforcement on these federal lands.

Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have come to believe that both Social Security and MEDICARE are perfectly sound and on track to last forever just as they are. Well, this is a lie of gigantic proportions the two continue to foist on the less educated voters of America.
Let's look at facts and there is no human alive that can truthfully look another in the eye and deny what I am saying. Not one!
If the current trend of unemployment continues to increase as expected the taxes paid by workers will decrease as jobs are lost. Correspondingly with no money the purchase of automobiles, homes, hardware goods will be bought. Again, less taxes for the government.

But now that Harry Reid is developing a proposal with $2.7 trillion in cuts and nothing in revenues, it's a safe bet that it won't include any tax increases. Which means that whether Republicans realize it or not, they've won. The question now is whether they can stop.
Originally, the Democratic position was that we should simply raise the debt ceiling. Republicans said "no." There would have to be a deal that reduced the deficit by at least $2.4 trillion -- which is the size of the debt ceiling increase needed to get us into 2013.

President Obama has an op-ed out in USA Today about the debt ceiling debate and as sure as the sun rises in the east he's pulling out that old liberal Democratic chestnut, calling for the wealthiest Americans to cough up their "fair share" of taxes.
We've been through this before, but it means nothing to the president, or any other liberal Democrat for that matter. So let's go real slow. The top one percent of wage earners in this country pay about 38 percent of all federal income tax. The top 5 percent pay about 60 percent. The top 10 percent pay about 70 percent. And the top 25 percent pay 86.34 percent — all according to a non-partisan group called National Taxpayers Union.

Just heard Mark Levine on WGST talk radio. He is a Constitutional lawyer.
He quoted from a U.S. House committee investigative session where it was discovered that the U. S. Treasury will have sufficient funds to pay Social Security and Veterans benefits for the month of August 2011. So the head of the Social Security Administration was questioned as to how these benefits would not be paid (Obama had threatened to stop Social Security payments on 3 Aug.).

If you want to accept that there is any debt, then we would owe it to the Federal Reserve (a private non-governmental corporation of bankers) since that is who creates and lends the federal reserve notes into circulation that you and others voluntarily use as “money.”
