If in recent history an American secretary of State has made a speech as delusional as John Kerry’s in Jakarta last week, I can’t remember it.
Discussing the most dangerous threats facing the world, Secretary Kerry said that “terrorism, epidemics, poverty, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction” are all problems, but added, “the reality is that climate change ranks right up there with every single one of them.”
That was extreme enough, but then came the claim that should disqualify him from serving as Secretary of State. “In a sense,” he said, “climate change can now be considered another weapon of mass destruction, perhaps the world’s most fearsome weapon of mass destruction.”

Numb and Numbers: Sebelius Keeps up Health Care Spin

If denial were an Olympic sport, the Obama administration would have a gold-medal team. In the latest ObamaCare numbers charade, Kathleen Sebelius tries to persuade skeptical reporters that the health care law won't drive down employment. Tell that to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). Obviously, legislation isn't the only thing liberals don't read, else the HHS Secretary would know how ridiculous her statement sounds in light of the group's latest analysis.
In two weeks, Americans haven't forgotten the stark warning from CBO, which blames ObamaCare for pushing as many two million full-time people out of the job market by 2017 -- and a total of 2.5 million in the next 10 years. And the projections (double what the agency originally estimated) don't include the major fallout from the employer mandate -- another provision the White House illegally delayed and wasn't factored into the CBO report. Still, Sebelius claims, "There is absolutely no evidence, and every economist will tell you this, that there is any job-loss related to the Affordable Care Act. The number of full-time workers continues to increase. I know that's a popular myth that continues to be repeated but it just is not accurate."

The American Center for Law and Justice is warning of an Obama administration plan to place government monitors in newsrooms via an FCC proposal that could turn every major news network and newspaper into little more than a state media mouthpiece.

FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai recently lifted the lid on a shocking White House proposal entitled ‘Multi-Market Study of Critical Information Needs’ that would dispatch researchers from the federal agency “to grill reporters, editors and station owners about how they decide which stories to run.”

According to Pai, the program is about “pressuring media organizations into covering certain stories.” In other words – the fairness doctrine on steroids.

Last week, Jeffrey Lord asked the following question in this space: “Should Obama be impeached?” I have enormous respect for Lord, and agree with virtually everything he writes, but his column reflects an unsettling trend in the way many view this issue. Most pundits and politicians discuss Obama’s serial violations of the Constitution as if mulling an interesting academic subject. They ponder such arcana as the definition of “high crimes and misdemeanors,” the number of Senate votes required to convict an impeached President, the effect of the process on the GOP’s electoral prospects in 2016, ad infinitum. Few, however, discuss impeachment as a serious possibility or even a rational course of action.
In a less complacent nation, Lord’s question would not be rhetorical. It is the duty of the House of Representatives to impeach Obama. Every member of Congress takes an oath to defend the Constitution and the President has declared war on that foundational document.
