THE AGENDA 03/02/2021

Here’s Why HR 1 Would Spell Disaster for Our Elections
It’s called the “For the People Act,” but what HR 1 would do is erode and eliminate basic security protocols that states have in place to protect the people’s votes. Heritage Foundation President Kay C. James says it would also create a federal takeover of elections and further erode trust in our elections. Watch her new video to learn more. Heritage experts studied the bill—scheduled for a House vote this week—and provide a detailed breakdown of its fatal flaws. “HR 1 would federalize and micromanage the election process, imposing unnecessary, unwise, and unconstitutional mandates on the states,” the fact sheet explains. Read the full fact sheet for a breakdown of exactly what HR 1 would do to our electoral system.

Biden’s Immigration Plan Validates Illegal Immigration
The Biden administration has introduced a new immigration reform plan—the U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021—and it is arguably the most radical piece of immigration legislation ever introduced in America. “The USCA seeks to erase the distinction between legal and illegal immigration. It includes no border security, would increase both illegal and legal immigration, and would skyrocket costs for the American taxpayer,” Heritage experts write in their latest report on the issue. Read the full report to find out what makes the USCA so harmful.

8 Things You Must Know About Deeply Flawed COVID-19 Plan
Over the weekend, the House of Representatives passed the Biden administration’s $1.9 trillion COVID relief plan. But the bill is stuffed with provisions that aren’t related to the disease or economic hardship, and in many cases would actually slow the economic rebound and destroy jobs. “This $1.9 trillion package represents a jarring leftward lurch to enact long-standing progressive priorities that have nothing to do with the pandemic,” writes Heritage research associate David Ditch. Read Ditch’s latest report to learn 8 crucial facts about this legislation.
