Conservatives,
Just weeks into office, President Biden has done all he can to singlehandedly shut down America’s energy boom.
He rescinded the permits for the Keystone XL pipeline. He imposed a temporary (read: will become permanent) ban on oil and gas leases on federal property. He forced the United States back into the misguided Paris Agreement.
And I feared his unilateral, anti-American energy actions would only get worse … until I learned of a critical, new bill introduced to Congress: the POWER Act.
The POWER Act stops catastrophic, unilateral decision-making on American energy by the president and puts decision-making where it belongs: with Congress.
Under the POWER Act, which was introduced in both the House and Senate just weeks ago, Congress would decide whether energy leases and permits on federal lands continue through a real legislative process, not simply the stroke of a pen by the President or Cabinet Secretaries.
The POWER Act would end executive overreach on energy policy and make sure our energy boom — and our supply of affordable, abundant, and reliable energy — continues.
You can bet that Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer don’t ever want to bring the POWER Act to the floor. Like President Biden, they’re more interested in winning favor from the radical, anti-energy green left than serving the American people.
But the energy crisis in Texas has shown us the grim future we’ll suffer under if they continue to get their way and overreach on energy policy: we’ll be shivering in cold, dark homes and reminiscing about the days when natural gas, oil, and coal kept the power on.
It’s time for pro-American energy activists like you and me to speak up and tell Congress to support and pass the POWER Act!
When we work together through the American Energy Alliance, we make a difference.
Thank you for joining us in the fight to protect American energy from presidential overreach.
