Mary Lynn was taken into surgery just a little while ago. The Ortho doctor decided it was time, and has called in a second specialist to create a 'team'. Mary Lynn, despite the four hour length of surgeries to clean the abdominal cavity, has tolerated those surgeries well the last two days, and so the Ortho surgery is underway.
They cannot leave the open abdominal wound open for much longer, and the reconstructive surgery will become ever more difficult if the intervention does not happen soon.
Her kidneys and liver have shut down again, but the dialysis is handling that, and hopefully, once these surgeries are complete and she can just rest and heal without constant interventions, those will recover too.
The Ortho team is hoping to give her a chance to be able to walk again. That's the plan. Of course, her healing and walking are also a part of a much bigger Plan, and Prayers are truly in order right now.
There has not yet been a time since the accident, when her life was not in the Big Man's Hands. She has done well despite all of these injuries, but always, it is His Will being done.
The family is Praying for the day when we will be able to see her, she will know who we are, and she will again be able to do the things she LUVS to do!
She's done so well till now, I have to believe the Good Lord intends for her to be with us for a while longer.
We won't have any update from the Ortho team until later today. This surgery will be over six hours....a frightening thought in her condition, but her progress with everything so far has been carefully and closely monitored, and it is determined that it must happen now.
Prayers that the team's hands will be guided by Our Lord, that Mary Lynn will tolerate the procedure, and that the outcome will conform with the plan are so GREATLY appreciated. This will be one of the hardest parts on her road to recovery. The Lord has Blessed her each step of the way until now, so I look forward to giving all of you happy news later today.
I thank everyone for their generous gift of Prayer. It may seem like so little, but it is so HUGE!
I will try to be at these keys as soon as we have word....
GOD Bless,
Mairi
