"Circle Back" Psaki won't say Biden still supports Gov Cuomo

HeadlineJen Psaki Dodges Question From ABC’s Jon Karl About Whether Cuomo Represents ‘Gold Standard For Leadership’

What's Up: President Biden's Press Secretary stumbled when confronted by ABC News' Jon Karl over NY Governor Cuomo's increasing scandal connected to nursing home deaths in his state. Psaki was twice dodged and deflected the question when asked if the current president still considers the democratic governor to be the "gold standard" for leadership.

Quote: "'Well, Jon, we work with Governor Cuomo just like we work with governors across the country,' Psaki responded. 'He’s also chair of the NGA, so he plays an important role in ensuring that we’re coordinating closely and getting assistance out to people of his state and to states across the country. And we’ll continue to do that.'" — DailyCaller.com

The First take: The press secretary's reticence to respond reminds us of the typical response of all "political animals" when asked for an honest opinion. The first instinct of these creatures is to check and see which way the bus of public opinion is headed and then run to get on it. We'll be waiting for you to "circle back" to us on this one, Jen.

Trump to speak at CPAC, will address Biden's policies and the GOP's future

HeadlineTrump to speak at CPAC in first public appearance after leaving office

What's Up: Former President Trump will return this coming weekend to address the upcoming CPAC event in Orlando, FL. The venue makes sense as the live audience will be closer to a well-heeled Trump rally than a sit-down with any MSM outlet

Quote: "Trump’s speech will focus on 'the future of the Republican Party and the conservative movement,' a source close to the former president told The Post. 'Also look for the 45th President to take on President Biden’s disastrous amnesty and border policies,' the source added." — NYPost.com

The First take: Frankly, we're not surprised. Mr. Trump's still polls very well with conservatives and members of the GOP. Some are pointing to Sunday's speech as the kick off of the 2024 Presidential Election season. Could it also be the start of a new Conservative party?

NBC poll: GOP becoming the party of blue collar workers

HeadlineNBC Poll Shows GOP Becoming Party Of Blue-Collar Workers

What's Up: For decades the Democratic Party claimed dominion over the nation's blue collar workers. According to polling data from NBC News, though, party loyalty is shifting across employment lines as well as demographic lines.

Quote: "'Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd noted that 'both parties are undergoing massive changes in who their voters are.' According to NBC News, 'one massive shift is coming in employment: the kinds of jobs Democrats and Republicans hold. There are signs across racial and ethnic demographic groups that Republicans are becoming the party of blue-collar Americans and the change is happening quickly.'" — DailyCaller.com

The First take: Are we witnessing the death of the "Country Club Republicans?" Perhaps. Or, it just might be a natural demographic shift based on the policies and priorities of the person on top of the ticket. We might even call this the "Trump Effect." After Trump's 2016 victory, many voters said they identified with Mr. Trump because he spoke like they did. Both parties would be wise to pay attention to where the working man (or woman) are casting their ballots. After all, there a lot more workers than bosses.

"Try to be less white" - Coca-Cola to employees in diversity training

HeadlineCoca Cola Confirms Training Employees ‘Try To Be Less White’

What's Up: A social media firestorm is scorching Coca-Cola following confirmed reports the company's recent "diversity" raining program included instructions for white people to "be less white" and to "break with white solidarity."

Quote: "A Coca-Cola spokesperson confirmed that the course is 'part of a learning plan to help build an inclusive workplace,' but also noted that 'the video circulating on social media is from a publicly available LinkedIn Learning series and is not a focus of our company's curriculum.'" — Newsweek.com

The First take: Coke's attempts to explain its way out of this one rings hollow when you see the company's logo incorporated in the posts featuring the "training." Will this story have an effect on sales of Coke (and it's myriad beverage products)? We're not certain just yet. But, we do wonder what the company is going to tell those adorable and very white polar bears to do about their fur.
