GOOD NEWS FROM THE SECOND DISTRICT

Dear friend,

As we approach the week before Christmas, be sure to reflect on what you have and what you are thankful for. For many of us, it has been a tough year - but resilience through gratitude will get us through. Here are a few good news stories to help you get your weekend off to a positive start.

A young man and his father have taken a proactive approach in helping prevent drownings along Panama City Beach. 14-year-old Kaial Hajik, has created Lifebokx – a box filled with life-saving gear that equips any beachgoer with the tools to save others lives as well as preserve their own. You can read the full story here.

After Hurricane Michael, many families were left without food, power, their homes, and a place to sleep. Local charity, Sleep in Heavenly Peace made an effort to build bunkbeds for those who have been without a place to rest their head – they just surpassed their 500th bed this past week. Thank you for your selfless work and generosity – especially during the giving season. You can read the full story here.

The Gulf Coast Children’s Advocacy Center received a $20,000 donation from GAC Contractors and the Contractors Association in Bay County. This donation will be used to provide the Christmas experience that children deserve. Merry Christmas to all! You can read the full story here.
