Trump Supporters versus Trumpers

Trump Supporters versus Trumpers

There are two different groups that support Trump. I will try to explain each one the best I can. I will add one other group – me.

Trump, the man. I like Trump’s gruffness because that’s the way I am. I like Trump’s “in your face” attitude because that’s the way I am. Trump is not the typical politician, which I like and many others like too. I like Trump because he’s a business man. During my professional career as an electrical engineer I had two successful side businesses and I understand business.

Trump is a man like any other man. Trump is also human like any other human. He has good days and he has bad days. He has days he does things right and he has days he does things wrong, just like any other human.  He has many things to contend with and it appears he’s trying his best to contend with each one of them. Well, maybe not all.

Some Trumpers accuse me of being on the other side. Their only reason for thinking this is that I stand my ground and argue that Trump does have some faults and has made some mistakes. This is frowned upon by Trumpers.

Trump supporters view Trump the same way I do.  They too know he’s a man in a dangerous world. They also know he’s human just like them. They know he has good days as well as bad days. They accept it without trying to hide it. They realize Trump has faults like any other human. They accept the good as well as the bad. They see the faults as being human. Any negatives that appear are not hidden. They don’t hide behind excuses just too make everything look okay. The faults or negatives are exposed for what they are and expressed openly. They understand that anything done wrong or in a negative way can be fixed or corrected by revealing it, not hiding it. My wife is a Trump supporter. She understands and accepts the good as well as the bad. She knows Trump is human and has his faults.

There are conservative journalists and author’s that are also Trump supporters. They tried to help Trump earlier this year regarding the insurrections. Those noted are Dr. Vieira, Kelleigh Nelson, Carol Brown, Ron Ewart, Rob Pue, Publius Hulduh and others. They support Trump but understand that he is human like the rest of us. They have all asked “where is Trump?” when he was needed.

There are millions of Trump supporters that like Trump. They want him to win and win big. The alternative is unthinkable.

Trumpers are a different breed. They view Trump a little differently. Yes, they like his gruffness and “in your face” attitude. They like that he is not part of the political establishment. Thus they are afraid to offend him. Sure, they want him to win and win big. They express themselves clearly and loudly. They like all the so-called “accomplishments”. They like all the things he has done but refuse to acknowledge any faults for fear of offending him. They see the good but don’t see any negatives. They refuse to accept any negatives. Also, they view Trump as god-like. They put him on a pedestal. Trump can do no wrong and is therefore infallible. A recent picture shows Trump in a cloud looking to his left. A caption talks about a doctor and bedside manners and finally realizing he’s the one telling the truth.  It’s a great picture of Trump. It reminds me of pictures of Our Lord God Almighty high in the clouds looking down to earth at
His people. Whoever created this picture should be ashamed of making it so god-like. Yes, Trumpers view Trump as a god. They treat him that way. He can do no wrong and is infallible.

Trumpers have grown his accomplishment list from one page to twenty pages in a matter of weeks - 20 PAGES. Many so-called “accomplishments” belong on a “to do” list or a “wish” list. Nothing was achieved or accomplished if it says “I’m working on” or “I want to”. The task or issue on the list has not been completed….yet.

When Trumpers are asked questions about something Trump did they will refuse to answer if the answer is in the negative. One example is his signing of the USMCA. The USMCA is not good for America and reading the details it can easily be seen why. Ron Ewart exposed the details. He read it. Why did Trump sign it? Not one Trumper gave a response. It was too difficult to answer because it caused discomfort. Trump is seen as infallible. He signed the PACT Act. Questions were raised about this Act. Again, no responses because the answer was too uncomfortable. It caused discomfort within their mind.

And now we can see that Trumpers are treating Amy Coney Barrett the same way they treat Trump. Questions were asked about her 2nd Amendment quotes. Some called her an “originalist”, which she is not. One response received was “the questions are irrelevant”. Sure they are irrelevant, because the responder did not want to answer because the answers were negative. Answering this way would have caused discomfort in his mind. Others just could not answer because it was too painful. All because they put these people on a pedestal and believe they are infallible.

One of Ms Barrett’s quotes was this; “…support the idea that governments are free to keep guns out of the hands of the dangerous.” “So for example, the mentally ill, others who would be likely to misuse guns.”

Here are the questions with the answers:

Does the 2nd Amendment mention anything about government? No.

Does the 2nd Amendment mention anything about dangerous people? No.

Does the 2nd Amendment cite anything about picking and choosing who can or cannot own a gun? No.

Barrett said “…governments are free to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people…” Where is this stated in the 2nd Amendment or even the entire constitution? Where? It is not stated anywhere. "...governments are free..."?????? This quote begs the next question: Who are dangerous people and who will decide who those dangerous people are?

No one is saying that Ms. Barrett is bad for the Supreme Court and should not be selected. But Trumpers will accuse people of this because they don’t want to hear anything negative. Her quotes about the 2nd Amendment were not exactly pro-gun, but like anything else, we weigh the good and bad and go with what we have. No one person is everything to everyone. But she seems to be the best at this time.

It should be easy to conclude that the refusal to answer these questions or explain them away is not because they are hard or the answers not easily found but because the answer caused undue stress to a Trumper. The term used is COGNITIVE DISSONANCE.

The term cognitive dissonance is used to describe the mental discomfort that results from holding two conflicting beliefs, values, or attitudes. People tend to seek consistency in their attitudes and perceptions, so this conflict causes uneasy feelings or discomfort. This inconsistency between what people believe and how they behave motivates people to engage in actions that will help minimize feelings of discomfort. People attempt to relieve this tension in different ways, such as by rejecting, explaining away, or avoiding new information such as; "The questions are irrelevant."

What are some of the conflicts? Trump is considered infallible so no negatives can exist. No wrongs are allowed. So infallible vs negative or infallible vs wrong is a conflict. Another conflict is "strategic patience" (waiting) vs protecting our country NOW. One major conflict that causes discomfort and/or pain is hearing anything negative about Trump.

The bottom line is this: All those above support Trump. They want him to win and win big. But let’s face it, he’s all we have. Sadly, he’s the lesser of two evils. However, he is a man and he is human. He is not god or god-like. He does not belong in a puff cloud.

Trump supporters are open and truthful.

Trumpers are closed and secretive.

Trump supporters want everything to be known.

Trumpers are truthful but not direct.

Trump supporters want the good as well as the bad to be known.

Trumpers only want the good to be known.

Trump supporters want the positives as well as the negatives to be known.

Trumpers express nothing bad or negative. These don’t exist in Trumps world.

One of the biggest issues we face today is the insurrection that occurred earlier this year with Antifa and BLM. It was this insurrection that caused Dr. Vieira to write his insurrection article making Trump aware of what his authority is. Since February the insurrection has taken root and grown into other cities. No action was taken earlier this year and as of today no action has yet to be taken to suppress Antifa and BLM. Neither mayor’s nor governor’s did anything to stop the hemorrhaging. It has now overflowed into other cities and states. Because of this, the other’s I mentioned above also wrote articles. In those articles many asked “Where’s Trump?” This was downplayed by Trumpers. Again, I asked questions but received no replies. The responses would be too painful to Trumpers.
