UPDATE IN MARY LYNN - PLEASE CONTINUE TO HOLD HER UP TO THE LORD IN PRAYER

Submitted by: Mairi

Dear All,
I guess in a way, no news is good news....
Yesterday, they did a special angiogram to try to find the source of the bleeding. Mary Sue has never said if they found it or not, but if they did, they were planning on plugging it with the gel foam the military uses.
She's being weaned off a lot of the pain meds, no one in my family tolerates them well, and Mary Sue thought maybe getting her off some of them would help.
No surgeries were scheduled for today, they are giving her a brief rest. The brain bleed is more under control, and the pressure is much improved. She was able to slightly wiggle her toes on command, and that is REALLY great news! Because she is able to slightly move her hands in response to them moving her and causing pain, and now being able to move her toes, we're quite sure there is no disabling injury to her neck.
Tomorrow, she must have the abdominal cavity completely *washed* out again, and they may finally be able to attempt some reconstruction of the left side of the pelvis, and repair or replacement of that hip. They will see how she does through the night.
Last night, she only required one unit of blood, and today, she only had one unit of platelets. YAAAAY!
She is back on full dialysis, but hopefully, those kidneys will try to do the work themselves again soon.
They have placed an iPad in her room so my sisters there can FaceTime with her. Today was the first time anyone has seen her, and they were SHOCKED. As can be expected, she has terrible swelling and bruising anywhere there are no bandages on her face. Her face was all the nurses would let my sisters see. She is still on the ventilator.
I am so encouraged that she has made it through this far. She's so spunky! LOL! Years ago, she played on the WWFL (Women's World Football League) She was an avid marathon runner, and she LUVS sports! Despite her diminutive stature, she's a REAL go-getter, and we're Praying they can reconstruct her well enough that she may yet get to play some sports she enjoys. I'm not sure how much she could enjoy being just a spectator, but anything is better than nothing, as long a she is still with us.
She is not out of the trauma unit yet, but hopefully that is coming, sooner than later. I believe it is a MIRACLE she is still here, nearly a week after this horrific accident....we never know what the Good Lord has in store for us!
That's about all the news for now. She doesn't like having that external pin on her left leg, or being in traction to take weight off the hip and pelvis, but if they are able to do the surgery on that tomorrow, maybe that will end soon for her.
I thank all of you for your continued Prayers. She is not yet out of the woods, but her slow progress is so encouraging. I'm sure all the Prayers are working their Miraculous Magic!
Will keep you posted....today has been a bitty uneventful....yesterday too, as they let her have a bit of rest to stabilize. Maybe tomorrow they can begin again in earnest to get her closer to being home again with her sweet little kitten who just can't rest at night without her Mama.
GOD Bless,
Mairi
