agenda outlined by President Obama last night can best be described as
willfully divisive. Rather than look for common ground, he offered only
more controversial proposals like amnesty, climate change, higher taxes,
and back-door gun control. And to make matters worse, he again
threatened to indulge his totalitarian instincts by circumventing
Congress, should it fail to submit to his agenda.

Immigration
reform seemed on a roll last year as a bipartisan group in the Senate
worked very publicly on a comprehensive measure that ultimately called
for beefing up border security, expanding foreign work visa programs,
and providing a path to legal status for certain undocumented
immigrants.

The
media has an obligation not to rush into a story and influence it, but
to report it as it is. Last week reporters from CNN, NBC and other news
organizations rushed in and erroneously reported my remarks at the RNC.
