U.S. GENERAL CALLS FOR ‘MORE TROOPS’ TO SECURE OUR SOUTHERN BORDER
National Guard Major General John Nichols testified on Capitol Hill yesterday, calling for more troops or law enforcement agents to secure the southwest border along with a comprehensive plan for border security that will allow the National Guard to “put forces in the proper place” and actually make arrests. Maj. Gen. Nichols, who serves as the adjutant-general of the National Guard in Texas indicated his support for Gov. Rick Perry’s call for 1,000 troops to be deployed along just Texas’ border with Mexico.
