Fellow Nevadan, With the ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ becoming law, the Biden Administration and his supporters in Congress have claimed that Americans earning less than $400,000 would NOT be impacted. Unfortunately, Nonpartisan tax watchdog Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) found that this is simply not true.  According to the JCT, between 78% and 90% of the estimated $200 billion the IRS is predicted to rake in is expected to come from small businesses.  The IRS has already started inviting applicants to join their new workforce, and is now facing an online uproar over their job posting that requires IRS special agents to “Carry a firearm and be willing to use deadly force, if necessary”.   Nevadans’ taxpayer dollars should not be utilized as a gamble to address inflation by weaponizing an army of IRS agents to intimidate them as a solution!  Congressman Budd introduced an amendment that would have redirected funds for 87,000 new IRS agents to instead hire additional Border Patrol agents to address our southern border crisis—but that effort was shot down by Biden’s supporters in Congress.
