On Wednesday, I released a statement after the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship unanimously passed my Small Business Cyber Training Act of 2021 . Legislation IntroducedOn Monday, Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) and I introduced a resolution calling on the Biden Administration to work with Congress to develop a plan to combat the rise of violent crime across the United States. Read more here . On Monday, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and I led the introduction of the Securing the Visa Waiver Program Act . The bill would codify certain information-sharing agreements and require the Secretary of Homeland Security to impose consequences for non-compliance under the visa waiver program. Read more here . On Monday, I led my colleagues in introducing a resolution honoring Russian dissident Vladimir Kara-Murza and condemning his unjust detention. Read more here . On Monday, I led my colleagues in introducing the Urgently Feeding America’s Babies Act . The bill would direct the Biden Administration to invoke the Defense Production Act and establish a process to approve the sale of European-produced infant formulas to address the ongoing shortage. Read more here . On Wednesday, Senator Dan Sullivan (R-AK) and I introduced the Investor Democracy is Expected (INDEX) Act . The bill would address problems stemming from the consolidated corporate ownership and voting power within Wall Street’s largest investment advisers and their index funds. Read more here . On Thursday, Senators Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and I introduced the Protecting Military Service Members’ Data Act of 2022 . The bill would protect the data of U.S. service-members by preventing data brokers from selling lists that aggregate the personal information of U.S. military personnel to adversarial nations, including China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea. The bill would protect the rights of pregnant students and their babies by strengthening existing requirements for higher education institutions to publicly disclose the resources and rights available for pregnant and parenting students, including information about how to file a Title IX complaint with the U.S. Department of Education if their school does not provide these accommodations.
