Californians with an intact conscience are right to be shocked about a Democrat bill in the California Legislature that would permit the killing of newborn babies days or even weeks after birth.
AB 2223 would shield a mother from civil and criminal charges for any "acts or omissions" related to her pregnancy, "including ... perinatal death." By permitting perinatal deaths, this means permitting killings of newborns up to a month after birth. The MedicineNet website definition of perinatal period is "starts at the 20th to 28th week of gestation and ends 1 to 4 weeks after birth."
What's more, AB 2223 would ensure this killing of newborns (infanticide) by penalizing any police that investigate. From the bill's text:
A party aggrieved by conduct or regulation in violation of this article may bring a civil action against an offending state actor in a federal district court or state superior court. A state claim brought in federal district court shall be a supplemental claim to a federal claim.
Upon a motion, a court shall award reasonable attorney’s fees and costs, including expert witness fees and other litigation expenses, to a plaintiff who is a prevailing party in an action brought pursuant to this section. In awarding reasonable attorney’s fees, the court shall consider the degree to which the relief obtained relates to the relief sought.
Attorney Susan Arnall of the California-based Right to Life League writes, "In California under AB 2223, former Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell, who murdered three infants born alive after botched abortions, could not be prosecuted. And incredibly, someone like Gosnell who helped a California mother kill her newborn after birth will actually have a cause of action to sue police for investigating the matter if AB 2223 becomes law."

Call the members of the Assembly Judiciary Committee, which will hear AB 2223 Tuesday, April 5 at 9am. If you're seeing this tonight (April 4), please leave anonymous voicemails between 8pm and 7am. Because it's the modus operandi of Democrat politicians to "trash" any messages not from their constituents. Don't let your important message be disregarded. Stay anonymous, call during non-business hours, and "mix in" as part of the mini-flood of opposition calls.
Tell them: "Oppose AB 2223. This bill permits 'perinatal' deaths without any law enforcement investigation. 'Perinatal" means babies already born, up for four weeks old. This means legalizing infanticide -- no questions asked! Don't you dare support AB 2223."
