JOE HARDING WEEKLY UPDATE

Friends,

It was another busy week in Tallahassee as we're already in the middle of this year's session.

I had a meeting with Kelli Keith, the leader of NAIFA Ocala, to discuss a variety of insurance-related issues affecting Florida residents.
Later that day I met with the Student Government leaders of the YMCA to discuss priorities and areas of focus, social responsibility, youth development, and healthy living. It's wonderful to hear the perspectives of the youth in our community as they are the ones who will shape the future.
On Wednesday, I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Florida’s Conservative Voice about HB 1557 - Parental Rights in Education.
Haylee and Myles attended the annual Ocala CEP luncheon, where it was announced that the growth goals set by the CEP, 5 years ago, were met and exceeded. We look forward to seeing what the CEP will accomplish this year!

On Thursday, I met with members of two different county school boards. These are the Levy and Marion County School Boards, respectively:
Kindness will be returned in-kind. I received a wonderful thank you gift from students after visiting their schools earlier last year. The students from College Park Elementary School and Dunnellon Middle School crafted this beautiful piece of artwork to express their appreciation.
Two of the bills I sponsored made it through their committee today. HB 1453 - Sexually Explicit Material passed through its first committee stop, the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Subcommittee, by a unanimous vote of 17-0. My other bill, HB 943 - Preemption of Local Government Wage Mandates, passed through its second committee stop, the Regulatory Reform Subcommittee.

I'm very happy to see these bills have success as I know they will benefit the people of District 22 and everyday Floridians. As always, please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns and feel free to visit our website if you want to learn more.
Joe
