FLORIDA - JOE HARDING WEEKLY UPDATE

Friends,

This week was a monumental week for the rights and future of this Great State. The greatest accomplishments this past week have been paramount to the liberties of Floridian Parents and bolstering financial banking practices with two sponsored Bills advancing forward.

I also had a great time at the Levy County School Foundation's 12th Annual Beast Feast. Great to see so many willing to help raise much needed revenue for LCSF.
Saturday February 12th

The 12th Annual Beast Feast for the Levy County School Foundation was a great time with many in attendance for such a worthy cause. Everyone from the young to the young at heart had an outstanding time and a great meal. I was truly grateful for all those who reached deep into their pockets to contribute over $30,000.00 to such a worthy investment - our children.
Wednesday February 16th

HB 1559, a bill, I am co-sponsoring with Rep. Rizo, focusing upon Credit Union and financial institutions processes and executive level authority passed favorably through the Insurance & Banking Subcommittee, which was its first committee stop. One more step in creating an accountable financial institution governance program! Click here to learn more

During this day I also attended a Press Conference on HB 7065: Child Welfare, (pictured above) which addresses the fatherless children crisis in Florida. The bill will provide over $70 million in funding to programs meant to help empower fathers to be present in the lives of their children. As a State and Nation we must embrace such programs that will assist in positive social impacts and foster a brighter future for our families.
As the day progressed I had a very productive meeting with Prosperity's Ocala Coalition. Pervading the topics at hand were plans and ideas that will provide a sound framework for boosting the District's economic future.
Thursday February 17th

Parental rights are God given and I am working to secure that right for Floridian Parents. I am pleased to say that HB 1557: Parental Rights in Education passed through the House Judiciary Committee, its last committee stop. HB 1557 is now ready to be presented on the House floor next week.

Despite inaccurate Federal Government representations and quotes this bill is a Parental Rights Bill and not a cloak and dagger approach to alienating student bodies. This is a huge step in leading our nation through the example of an all inclusive education program that provides parents with a voice in what their children are taught.

Well my friends as you can see it has been a very busy, but very productive week on the front lines of state policy. I truly do appreciate you're input and value all of your opinions. If you would like to let me know what's on your mind please contact me on my website. (Link found below)
Best regards,

Joe
