Dear Friend,

Temperatures are dropping and we’re down to the last quarter of the year. Now is a great time to reflect on all the good things that have happened this year. Here are a few stories to help you get started --

Eleven-year-old Katelyn Irwin of Tallahassee started Go Gold Day, which was held in Leon County schools this past Friday, to bring awareness to childhood cancer. Irwin recently raised more than $12,000 for cancer charities including the Hang Tough Foundation, UF Health Shands Children's Hospital, and Trent's Touch. I’m so proud of Katelyn and I look forward to seeing more great things from this young leader. Read more here.

Several organizations in Panama City recently partnered together to hold Recovery By The Bay to highlight resources available to those looking for a recovery in Bay County. Over 40 different organizations and programs were in attendance. This is the first year the event was held, but several organizations say they hope to come together and hold similar events in the future. Thank you to all of those who made this event possible. Read more here.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office recently raised more than $58,000 for the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch in its annual “Fins-N-Pins” fundraiser. It has been ten years since the annual fundraiser was first created and the event consists of a bowl-a-thon, followed by a community fish fry, and auction.  Since its inception, the event has raised nearly $300,000 for the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch. Great job, everyone! Read more here.
