It was the best of times, it was the worst of times?? This well-worn phrase suggests an age of radical opposites taking place at the same time.
That practically sums up the days in which we now live. In the West we live in utter luxury compared to past centuries. We live in large, comfortable homes, drive the latest cars, earn a good living, warmed in winter, cooled in summer.
Our food and drink doesn't come from fields and vineyards but supermarket shelves groaning with what we see as necessities – it is a life quite unknown to those of past generations.
And YET – we suddenly face greater dangers than we can possibly know or understand?
We stand, probably unknowingly, at the very gates of a coming tyranny the likes of which the world has yet to see. You can glimpse it now. It has some of the hallmarks of the events of 1939-45 – yet now with elements of a greater technology back of it all.
We have been lulled into a state of complacency on the one hand, and been terrified out of our collective wits on the other. We have been told that a global virus is stalking the human race – that we must all be 'vaccinated'' or perish!
The pressure on those 'hesitant's'' is mounting by the day and before much more time has passed our fleeting freedoms will have vanished without our submission to ever harsher governmental edicts.
We keep saying it, and will do so until this nightmare is over – or finished for good - we are now living in the Days of Noah redux – all the demonic features of biblical prophecy for the days just prior to the Time of Jacob's Trouble are with us in spades.
Practically all of our creator's law is now under severe attack – anything that resembles Judeo Christianity is being systematically dismantled and outlawed and an ominous darkness is descending upon this planet each and every hour. A gloom in which no Godly man or woman can work.
Here is where the 'best of times' comes into another view in a surprising way. These days mirror exactly how the Lord Jesus Christ described conditions for the days in which He promised to return for His precious and ransomed people – the Church.
Is it possible that He who said He would never leave or forsake us, will now leave us to endure what lies just ahead? Perish the thought.

Large Explosion Heard in Tehran.

The explosion happened several hours after a large-scale cyber-attack across Iran.
A large explosion has been heard in Tehran, Iran, according to Iranian Fars News agency.
Tehran's fire department head said that they "have not received any reports regarding an explosion," although they reportedly clarified that fire and rescue teams had been sent to the area in the north of the Iranian capital.
Unconfirmed reports have placed the explosion close to a building inside Mellat Park, where television and radio stations run by Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting have their headquarters
Hamidreza Goudarzi, the Deputy Security Chief for Tehran Province has been quoted by the IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News saying that the incident is under investigation and it was unclear at this time what caused it, and it is unknown as of right now if it was an act of terrorism or not.
Iranian media has reported that there were no casualties at the scene of the explosion.
The explosion happened several hours after a large-scale cyberattack across Iran, with hackers posting the phone number of the country's supreme leader as the number to call for information for train delays.

PM Bennett paid secret visit to Jordan to meet the King.

Israel's Prime Minister Naftali Bennett flew by helicopter to Amman last week for an unannounced talk with King Abdullah at the royal palace.
To ease Jordan’s chronic water shortage, Bennett agreed to sell the kingdom another 50 million cu. of Sea of Galilee water in the current year.
Neither leader was ready to confirm the encounter.
The king’s circle was later said to be furious that the first meeting in five years between an Israeli prime minister and the monarch was leaked to the media.
Abdullah is due in Washington on July 19, to become the first Arab leader to be welcomed at the White House by President Joe Biden.

Russia Simulates Bombing Exercise in Black Sea as NATO, US Forces Exercise.

Vladimir Putin is not happy about recent American and NATO exercises in the Black Sea, ordering the bombing of simulated enemy ships and conducting aerial denial tests in a region he believes to be within Russia’s sphere of influence.
And Pentagon spokesman John F. Kirby says that’s just fine. “I know of no infringement on our ability to exercise in Sea Breeze by Russian activity,” Kirby said of the two-week exercise hosted by Ukraine that concludes July 10.
The U.S. and Ukrainian navies, including Airmen from the 7th Special Operations Squadron, 5,000 military personnel, 30 ships, and 40 aircraft from the U.S., Ukraine, and NATO ally and partner nations, are helping to strengthen Ukraine’s capacity to protect its territorial waters after losing 70 percent of its naval fleet to Russia in 2014.

US Troops may Leave Syria at any Time, Russian Envoy says.

The United States may withdraw its troops from Syria at any time, Russian Special Presidential Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev [pictured above] said in an interview with TASS.
"I think that the withdrawal of US troops from Syria may take place at any time," he pointed out.
According to Lavrentyev, US troop pull-out from Afghanistan signals the Kurds that the United States may arrive at a decision to leave Syria, too.
"You must remember that former US President Donald Trump had decided to withdraw troops but his decision was later reconsidered and delayed," the Russian envoy noted.
He went on to say that US troop withdrawal from Afghanistan was an important development.
"We see that as US troops leave the country, the Taliban (outlawed in Russia) are quickly expanding their influence to all across entire Afghanistan, taking control of numerous districts. Tensions are definitely rising. However, since the Americans made a decision to pull troops out and return them home, I think that it could be the right step, though it had not been fully agreed on with the US’ allies and the countries that are interested in maintaining stability in this country," Lavrentyev added.

Shafaq News/Baghdad made it clear to Moscow that Iraq is ALSO set for a US withdrawal from the republic,
"The Iraqi colleagues told us that Baghdad intends for a US withdrawal from the country," Lavrentyev said.
Lavrentyev noted that, should the US withdraw from Iraq, it would be impossible to maintain its contingent in Syria due to logistics issues.
"If that happens and the US contingent withdraws from Iraq, then its maintenance of the contingent in Syria would become impossible due to logistics issues," he added.

China Reveals Top Secret AI Drone that can Track & Blast Enemy Submarines with NO human input.

CHINA has revealed it is developing a top secret underwater drone designed to track and destroy enemy submarines with no human input.
The unmanned attack robot was first test fired in the Taiwan Strait a decade ago but its existence was not made public until now.
The project to build the drone was funded by the People's Liberation Army and dates back to the 1990s, reports the South China Morning Post.
Under testing, it was reportedly able to detect a dummy submarine, identify its origin and hit it with a torpedo.
The craft is said to rely entirely on artificial intelligence and does not need any instructions from an operator.
Details of the part-declassified project were revealed in an academic paper last week.
Professor Liang Guolong, who led the team, said that with more advanced technology the drones would be able to hunt in packs.
Observers said the timing of the paper was significant as it comes amid rising fears China might invade self-ruled Taiwan.
It also sends a signal to the US and its allies that any defence of the independent island nation would be fraught with risk.

Vatican Insider: Pope Francis ‘Will never Be the Same’ after Colon Operation.

ROME — Luis Badilla, editor of the semi-official Vatican news aggregator Il Sismografo, said Wednesday that Pope Francis’ health situation is “severe” and when he returns from hospital he “will never be the same again.”
In his sobering blog post, Badilla declares that journalists and commentators are not doing the pope any favours when they downplay the seriousness of his illness.
There is a very significant detail that many “underestimate, ignore, or manipulate,” he writes, namely that “the disease that has affected Pope Francis is severe and degenerative” and “could also be chronic.”
“The Holy Father will certainly return to the Vatican to resume his path in the footsteps of Peter but he will never be the same again,” Badilla insists. “All the rhetoric about a Jorge Mario Bergoglio ‘superman’ damages his image and charisma.”
In his post, Badilla notes several details of the pope’s recent surgical operation to treat his diverticulitis that give cause for concern.
As cited by numerous authoritative press sources, on Sunday evening the pope underwent general anaesthesia and was administered powerful sedatives, Badilla observes.
After which he was “subjected to laparoscopic surgery (almost a sort of scouring of the lower part of the abdominal cavity, with small, very sophisticated probes) and immediately afterwards to an ‘open’ or ‘open sky’ surgical intervention to allow hands-on work with full visibility.”
The laparoscopy encountered “insurmountable obstacles,” Badilla asserts, and therefore, the surgeon and his team decided “to switch to another method that allowed the removal of several centimetres of colon that are now being examined for rigorous histological controls.”
Given the gravity of the surgery, Badilla insists, it is counter-productive for journalists to act as if the intervention weren’t a big deal.
Meanwhile, the state of the pope’s health may well affect future travel plans and other events.
It is clear that Francis is eager to go to Budapest in mid-September for the closure of the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress and then on to Slovakia,
But no one knows today whether this pilgrimage will be possible.
