Lapid meets the deadline for his “government of change”

After a hair-raising dash to obtain the signatures of all eight parties for a coalition, Yair Lapid [right above] was ready to meet the deadline of his mandate to form a government at midnight on Wednesday June 2 and present the line-up to the president.
In the final hours, after intense haggling, three major hurdles were set aside for now, so as to add the last three missing signatures to the line-up.
Yemina signed onto the deal after Ayelet Shaked was awarded first place on the Judicial Selection Committee in a rotation deal with Labour Leader Merav Michaeli, who takes over at the same time as Lapid becomes premier. Michaeli held out until the last hour. Labour is to be compensated with a deputy ministerial post.
The Arab Ra’am list signed on the deal after its leader Mansour Abbas was satisfied with substantial gains for his community; while New Hope’s Gideon Saar added his signature against an assurance that the attorney general’s functions would be overhauled.
Some of these obstacles remain to be finally sorted out during the week remaining up to the swearing-in of the new party before the Knesset. Others may crop up before the government is finally in the bag.
Yamina leader Naftali Bennett needs, in particular, to tackle dissidents in his party to make up the 61 majority, before he can take his seat as first prime minister of the new “government of change.”
Never in 73 years has Israel formed a hybrid Jewish-Muslim government, yet here in 2021, it is the only way forward, God has blocked all the other exits.
Last month, regathered Israel was officially 73-years old, and today they reached another prophetic milestone in their march to the time of Jacob’s trouble.
Israel has now formed a new governing coalition that, for the first time ever, includes Muslims under the leadership of Mansour Abbas and the United Arab List.

Iran’s largest warship MYSTERIOUSLY catches fire and sinks near Hormuz.

Just as negotiators were preparing to meet in Vienna on Wednesday to wrap up the latest round of talks on reviving the Iran nuclear deal, Iran's largest warship mysteriously caught fire Wednesday in the Gulf of Oman and sank under unclear circumstances, off Jask.
The Fars and Tasnim news agencies reported that efforts to save the support warship, named Kharg (after the island where Iran's main oil terminal sits), were a failure.
The fire started around 0225 local time roughly 1,270 kilometres (790 miles) southeast of Tehran in the Gulf of Oman, not far from the Strait of Hormuz, where several Saudi oil tankers have been attacked in recent years (the US Navy accused the Iranians of using limpet mines to carry out these attacks).
The blaze reportedly raged for 20 hours before the ship sank. It appears the entire crew safely left the vessel. The fire occurred during a "training naval operation" and it's not clear exactly what caused it.
"All efforts to save the vessel were unsuccessful and it sank," Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency said.
Western intelligence sources report that a fire in the engine room caused one of the ship’s boilers to explode. The crew of 400 were evacuated in time before the ship sank.
The Kharg, defined by the Iranians as a training ship, is capable of replenishing other ships at sea, lift heavy cargo and serve as a launch paid for helicopters.
China threatens US with ‘intense nuclear showdown’ as it ramps up atomic program as a ‘vital deterrent against America’

CHINA has threatened the United States with an "intense nuclear showdown" as it ramps up its atomic program.
The Chinese Communist Party's mouthpiece newspaper launched a blistering attack on the West, saying China’s nuclear plan was now vital to the country’s "strategic deterrence" against the US.
President Xi Jinping wants the country’s military to be on a par with the US within the decade the Global Times, said "the number of China's nuclear warheads must reach the quantity that makes US elites shiver".
"We must be prepared for an intense showdown between China and the US," Hu, the editor, wrote in a chilling op-ed for the Chinese state-run newspaper.
"In that scenario, a large number of Dongfeng-41, and JL-2 and JL-3 (both intercontinental-range submarine-launched ballistic missiles) will form the pillar of our strategic will”.
"The number of China’s nuclear warheads must reach the quantity that makes US elites shiver should they entertain the idea of engaging in a military confrontation with China."
Hu said the "intensifying US strategic containment of China" means it is "important to keep rapidly increasing the number of nuclear warheads and strategic missiles".
"This is the cornerstone of China's strategic deterrence against the US," he said.
"On this basis, we can calmly and actively manage divergences with Washington to avoid a minor incident sparking a war”.
"US hostility toward China is burning. We must use our strength, and consequences that Washington cannot afford to bear if it takes risky moves, to keep them sober."

The former US president says many people’s religious beliefs will change if it’s ever proved alien life does exist [and he’s dead right!] – and there’ll be calls for huge amounts to be spent on arming ourselves
Barack Obama has waded into the conversation about alien life – and has predicted that if evidence of aliens emerges, it will lead to sweeping changes around our planet.
The former US President said that proof of aliens would likely result in the emergence of new religions, and there would be calls for huge sums of money to be spent on weapons systems so we can defend ourselves from possible attack.
But he said the existence of aliens wouldn’t change his own perspective on life.
President Obama was speaking on a New York Times podcast just days after it emerged that UFO’s had been regularly spotted by US military personnel. Barack Obama believes proof of alien existence will lead to the creation of new religions
He was asked what he thought would happen if we could prove there were aliens probing the Earth but we were unable to make contact with them or interact with them.
“It’s interesting." he said. "It wouldn’t change my politics at all. Because my entire politics is premised on the fact that we are these tiny organisms on this little speck floating in the middle of space.
And in a move that highlights how the phenomenon of UFO’s is moving from the realms of science fiction into the mainstream, the US Department of Defence is expected to release a report soon addressing the issue.
In a couple of weeks we should all know??
