  • Pelosi passes sweeping election reform bill with zero GOP votes
  • Biden offers to take questions -- then the White House cuts the feed

Did you see the "space hurricane?"

HeadlineScientists discover a wild space hurricane above Earth

The First take: We have to admit the swirling plasma and "raining" electrons of this "solar hurricane" was a welcome distraction from the regular news of the day. Apparently, scientists have known about these storms for about seven years and they are believed to be happening on other planets out in the cosmos. Are the solar hurricanes harmful? NASA says the charged particles thrown off by the storm can cause "issues" for satellites and astronauts. Issues? Who wants "issues" when you're in space?

Party line vote pushes House voting rights bill across the finish line

HeadlineHouse passes voting rights and elections reform bill

The First take: Another day, another party-line vote. Pelosi and her caucus passed the ironically-titled "For The People Act" with zero support from House Republicans. The final tally was 220-210. Not a single Republican voted to support a bill that would strip states of control of their elections and remove the requirement to show an ID in order to vote. We expect this bill will be pronounced dead-on-arrival in the Senate.

HeadlineBiden live feed cuts out after saying he’ll take questions

The First take: It ALMOST happened yesterday. President Biden almost took questions following a COVID-19 press event. Seconds after announcing he was "happy to take questions," President Biden's video feed from the White House was dropped. Today is day 44 of the Biden administration and the President has not taken questions from the press. George W. Bush waited 34 days, Barack Obama talked with reporters on day 21 and Donald Trump faced the media on day 28 of his term. What gives Joe?
