Trump said WHAT at CPAC?

HeadlineTrump tears into Biden, GOP critics in first post-presidency speech

The First take: The most anticipated speech at CPAC 2021 was also one of the longest as the former President delivered 90+ minutes of "vintage Trump." As expected, there were multiple attacks on President Biden's radical policies aimed a undoing the Trump era. We did appreciate Mr. Trump clarifying he has no plans to start a new party, splintering the GOP and risking the party's future. What many of us could have done without was the return to claims of a "rigged" election. Not only would that omission have pushed more focus on renewing the MAGA policies in the minds of the CPAC faithful, it would have saved us all 30 minutes.

House passes massive, pork-laden bill with "bipartisan opposition"

HeadlineDemocrat-Controlled House Passes $1.9 Trillion Stimulus Bill; Two Dems Vote Against It

The First take: Mom always said, "Nothing good happens after midnight." Pelosi and the Democratic-dominated House proved mom to be right again after midnight on Friday. The bill squeaked through with two Democrats voting against passage. Can we call that "bipartisan opposition?" After all, when one GOP member supports ANYTHING Pelosi is pushing, it's tagged as "bipartisan." All eyes are on the Senate now as President Biden is pushing for quick action on this bloated bill.

"Advanced" learning suspended because too many white, Asian kids

HeadlineBoston Public Schools suspend advanced program because officials were ‘disturbed’ by the number of Asian and white students

The First take: Madness. That's the first word that popped into our heads when we learned Boston Public Schools had suspended a program for advanced studies because the education overlords were "disturbed" by the numbers of Asian and white students enrolled in the program. Imagine the mediocrity we will foster by stifling the development of young brains yearning to learn. We also wonder when this same thinking will transfer to sports? How long before teams be forced to sideline star players because others cannot compete?

Another Cuomo accuser comes forward with sex harassment claims

HeadlineCuomo Apologizes To Anyone Who Thought His ‘Levity And Banter’ Was ‘Unwanted Flirtation’

The First take: It was a busy weekend for the embattled New York Governor. As he was denying the accusations of sexual assault and harassment from one former staffer, another came forward to accuse Cuomo of inappropriate behavior. By the time Monday rolled around, the Governor had tried to explain away his behavior by claiming his "flirtations" were "misunderstood."
