UP FIRST 10/19/2020

First look:

  • Chief Justice Roberts rides with liberals in ballot counting extension
  • New Biden ad stars wealthy tech mogul as struggling bar owner
  • The Debate Commission installs a "mute" button for Thursday night
  • The signature on the work order for Hunter's laptops looks legit

Chief Justice Roberts sides with liberal justices (again) in PA case

HeadlineSupreme Court allows 3-day extension for Pennsylvania mail-in ballots

What's Up: The 4-4 ruling from the Supreme Court kicked this critical case back to the PA Supreme Court where the GOP lost its case where it was hoping to have Election Day actually be the finish line. In the case of Pennsylvania, November 6 is now the last day mail-in votes will be allowed to be counted.

Quote: "Chief Justice John Roberts joined with three liberal members of the court in blocking the GOP’s challenge to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s previous ruling. Opinions by the justices were not included in the ruling." — NYPost.com

The First take: Do we need any more evidence pointing out the importance of having all nine justices on the Supreme Court? And do we need any more evidence of how important it is to have truly conservative justices?

New Biden ad stars wealthy tech mogul as struggling bar owner

HeadlineBiden Ad Portrays Wealthy Tech Investor as Struggling Small Business Owner

What's Up: A new, high-profile ad from the Biden campaign appears to show a working class bar owner in Michigan telling his story of struggling to keep his business afloat in the pandemic. The truth is quite different. "Joe," the co-owner of The Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, MI, also happens to be a very wealthy man who inherited his money, owns several buildings, and has received $5.5 million in venture capital. "Joe" has also donated thousands to Biden's campaign.

Quote: "'Usually you become a CEO and you make money, and then the money allows you to become an angel investor first,' he said. 'I happened to have different circumstances where I had money [first].'" — FreeBeacon.com

The First take: We just need clarification on a few things from the Left. If a guy inherits money and turns it into more money AND he's a Democrat like "Joe" the bar owner, it's OK. If another guy inherits money and turns it into billions as Donald Trump did, it's wrong. We also point out the problems many restaurant and bars owners are experiencing are due to local restrictions from governors like Michigan's Gov Whitmer.

MASSIVE changes are coming for the U.S. dollar...

HeadlineMillions of Americans are flocking to this safe-haven asset for protection

What's Up: The Federal Reserve admitted that the central bank is working on a digital currency to replace the dollar, based on blockchain technology. This central bank digital currency (CBDC) will make the dollar obsolete.

Quote: Goldman Sachs just said "It's time to buy gold"... Don't wait any longer.

The Take: The original version of the stimulus bill, presented by Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, called for the creation of a ‘digital dollar’ and the establishment of ‘digital dollar’ wallets. This digital currency could also be used to track everything you buy or sell… Your privacy and economic freedom could be gone.

Debate commission will have a mute button in use on Thursday night

HeadlineCommission Changes Rules To Mute Microphones During Next Debate; Trump "Remains Committed" To Debate

What's Up: The allegedly non-partisan Debate Commission has announced some changes to the upcoming final Presidential Debate between Trump and Biden. While the topics slated for discussion are still being negotiated, what is not flexible is the addition of a mute button which will silence each candidate's microphone for the first two minutes of their opponent's response to the moderator's question.

Quote: "President Trump is committed to debating Joe Biden regardless of last minute rule changes from the biased commission in their latest attempt to provide advantage to their favored candidate." — zerohedge.com

The First take: We are starting to see a pattern here. The Left controls social media and decides which stories and comments can be seen. Liberals on universities demand "safe spaces" where they won't encounter differing opinions. Trigger warnings are on movies and TV shows as well as news programs. And now, debate moderators will have a mute button. Anyone else feeling a little constricted?

The signature on work order for Hunter's laptop sure looks like his

HeadlineAlleged Hunter Biden Signature Found On Documents For Work On Three MacBook Pro Laptops At Repair Shop

What's Up: Every day more documents are being released supporting the New York Post's story about hard drives and a laptop belong to Hunter Biden. The latest piece claims Hunter's signature is on a work order to repair the machine. The signature has not yet been verified.

Quote: "The document allegedly signed by Biden details repair work that was to be performed on three MacBook Pro laptops at ‘The Mac Shop’ in Wilmington, Delaware. Aside from the signature, the paperwork notes Biden’s name in the ‘bill to’ section for a cost of $85.” — DailyWire.com

The First take: We really would like to know long is this dance going to last. Not one person in the Biden campaign or Biden family has denied the accuracy of reports about the laptop and hard drives. We believe the devices, purported to belong to Hunter Biden and containing a mountain of emails showing Hunter (and possibly his father) were involved in questionable dealings with foreign leaders and business people, should be a top priority ahead of Election Day. Perhaps Joe, Hunter, and the rest of the Bidens will let us know the real story AFTER we elect him?
