EDITOR'S NOTE
Last Monday, we published a meme based on the parable Jesus told in Luke 18 about a prideful pharisee thanking God that he was so much better than another man. Given the obnoxious virtue signaling on social media, complete with black boxes as profile pictures to show "solidarity" with black people, we decided the "holier than thou" message of the image and its caption would resonate as the obvious connection.
We were dismayed to learn that some readers instead viewed the meme as anti-Semitic, which was about as far from our minds as it could possibly be when crafting the meme. We very much regret this interpretation and have removed the meme.
