MUTH'S TRUTHS 04/18/2017

We are now less than three weeks away from our Third Annual Citizen Outreach Mexican Baja Cruise on the Carnival Imagination!  Couple of notes for those who are joining us this year…

1.)  The Muth Clan has soccer games on Saturday morning/afternoon - and then will head out of Vegas for Long Beach, laying up somewhere in-between for the night.  We like to get to the dock and unload our luggage and check in as early as possible on departure morning.

The sooner we’re on deck at the pool and having lunch with a margarita the better!

2.)  Carnival asks that everyone Pre-Register a specific time for checking in. Again, we like to check in and get onboard as early as possible – lunchtime – and then kick back and relax for a few hours before setting sail around 5:00 pm

If that sounds like a plan, Stan, log into your account and select the earliest “Check-in Time” available NOW before everyone else beats you to it.  Why be waiting in the TSA line at 3 pm to check-in when you could be sitting by the pool sipping a pina colada, right?!!

3.)  We don’t have any formal agenda for getting together and talking about Trump Derangement Syndrome, therapy puppies and safe zones.

While at sea you’ll usually find me somewhere on the Lido Deck around the pool or participating in a trivia contest below deck at various times outlined on your daily schedule of events.  In the evening, you’ll likely find me and Gia in the piano bar after the night’s production show (I hope the piano player is sober this year!).

Where you will NOT find us is in the smoke-filled casino.

4.)  For those joining us, please shoot me your email address and cell number so I can keep you posted of any last-minute items, get-togethers or changes. Email your contact info to chuck@citizenoutreach.com.

5.)  For all you procrastinators who didn’t book early but now think you might like to join us, contact our Cruise Director at Carnival to see if there are any rooms left or great last-minute deals.  Call Karen Weiner at (800) 819-3902.

Cheers.

NEVADA NEWS & VIEWS

* Rumor Control: No, I have not endorsed anyone in the Las Vegas City Council Ward 2 race between incumbent Bob Beers and challenger Steve Seroka for their June run-off election.  But that might change.

Yesterday I obtained a series of emails between Councilman Beers and a constituent over the billion-dollar NO BID contract Beers voted to give to trash-hauling giant Republic Services.  The emails are extraordinary, and demonstrate one of the most arrogant betrayals of conservative principle by an elected Republican I’ve witnessed over the last 25 years.

You simply won’t believe what he wrote, and I’ll be sharing the content of those emails here in the next couple of days.  So, so sad.

In other municipal races of interest:  I’m personally backing RepublicanMichele Fiore for the Las Vegas City Council Ward 6 race against Democrat Princess Kelli Ross.  And Republican Scott Black for North Las Vegas City Council against incumbent Democrat Anita Wood.

And in the Las Vegas Municipal Court race for Department 3, I met with incumbent Judge Heidi Almase yesterday afternoon and am supporting her re-election.  I’ll have additional details and background information – including why her opponent is totally unqualified for the position - in the coming days.

Almase

* Department of Good News: Sorry I missed this last week (so many stories; so little time), but Storey County Commissioner Lance Gilman’s effort buy a recall of Sheriff Gerald Antinoro – contributing a staggering $142,000 to the effort – and then handpick his replacement…failed.

Gilman is the wealthy landlord for the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center, home of new taxpayer-subsidized Tesla battery factory.  Nevertheless, Sheriff Antinoro reportedly has - get this - treated His Highness and his business interests the same under the law as any other citizen.

That's irked Gilman, who appears to believe that all citizens are created equal - but he should be treated more equal than others.  Chalk one up for the good guys.

FAMOUS LAST WORDS

“(Democrat) Jon Ossoff has more than $8 million supporting his campaign, most of it consisting of outside-Georgia money – including a fair amount coming out of Washington, D.C.  Although this race is not over yet, it does show just how close you can come to stealing an election if you have enough money." – Herman Cain on the “all in” effort by Democrats to win today’s special election in Georgia to replace former Rep. Tom Price, who is now President Trump’s HHS secretary.

Cain is a confirmed speaker for Citizen Outreach’s Conservative Leadership Conference in Las Vegas this September
