SERMON - AMERICA'S FOUNDATION UNDER ATTACK ---RIGHTEOUS MUST ACT

America ’s Foundation
Under Attack
Righteous
MUST ACT

Scripture says a day will come when God shakes everything that can be shaken.
The only thing that will remain is that which cannot be shaken.

What is it that cannot be shaken by God’s judgment?

Us! The true believers of our Lord! The TRUE Christians!

In past sermons I have been telling you that I am convinced that the shaking of America and the shaking of nations throughout the world is a manifestation of God’s wrath. The Lord is ‘laying bare’ all of the false foundations that men have trusted in.

Psalm 11: 3 When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do ?"

Think on it! Nobody, no politician, economist or financial expert has been able to explain the sudden evaporation of great wealth.
No nation has proven to be immune and companies and so-called financial empires considered to big to all, fell!

Brothers and sisters in Christ…I firmly believe that this is God at work expressing His sadness at the works of man.

We, Christians, men and women that believe in the One True God must have no fear even though times are perilous. We are sheltered by the Blood of Jesus Christ and truth must be the cornerstone of our faith and as such must never waver.

1 Thessalonians 5: 9For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

God reserves His wrath for the wicked and His mercies for the righteous.  The unrighteous harden themselves to any offer of God’s mercies and laugh at the thought of our faith.

Romans 1: 18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness,

God’s wrath towards hardened hearts is stated clearly throughout the New Testament, one such statement is thus:

John 3: 36Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him."

Those who deny our Lord do so with hardened hearts. Paul wrote:

Ephesians 5: 5For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.[a] 6Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient.

What about the righteous? What about us?

1 Thessalonians 1: 10and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.

And,

Romans 5: 8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!

We will be affected but God, in His infinite wisdom has told us just what to do during such perilous times.

Isaiah 26: 20 Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut the doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until his wrath has passed by.

Hide? Where?

The answer is you must hide in that secret hiding place you have in your mind! Isaiah describes it in this way:
Isaiah 26: 3 You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.

You must stop worrying about tomorrow. When God says, “shut the doors,” He is saying that we must not succumb to the troubling voices within our heads, close out all thoughts of world events and cease worrying.

In Psalms there are many of God’s Words to help you. Consider these:

Psalms 57: 1 Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me, for in you my soul takes refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings
until the disaster has passed. 2 I cry out to God Most High, to God, who fulfills {his purpose} for me. 3 He sends from heaven and saves me, rebuking those who hotly pursue me; Selah  God sends his love and his faithfulness.

Psalm 4: 4 In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. Selah

Psalm 63:  6 On my bed I remember you;  think of you through the watches of the night. 7 Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings. 8 My soul clings to you;
your right hand upholds me.

I have found that when I am in bed and all is quiet it is easy to turn my thoughts to the Lord and worship without uttering one word. This is my place of comfort and my time to shut out all human voices, any bad news and stay every troubling fear and allow myself to speak to God without distraction.
As you talk to God at times you are up and about you can depend on God’s warnings of Satan seeking to disrupt all that you seek to do that is righteous. To battle Satan and his dominions we must put on the armor God has given His children.

Ephesians 6: 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

I point this out as the evils of men are brought about by the works of Satan and it is he that directs the weak of spirit to abandon God for earthly riches and power. No man of God would be so bold as to do the things being laid upon us by our own elected leaders!

As we face these times we must realize that none of us is fighting the battle alone. We must not assume that no one, even those closest to us, can understand what we are going through. If they are truly Christian they not only understand but have the same concerns as you.

The armor of God given His children is burnished with the faith God has given us and we must hold our shields up against our enemy’s onslaught. They cannot allow their claims seeking to justify their own disbelief to shake our faith.  They cannot be allowed to instill fear in us and to do anything that would separate us from the love of God.

Isaiah 54: 17 no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me," declares the LORD.

God be praised! He is our hiding place in times of crisis and His faithful promises are our shield of protection. As His children we must cling to those promises!

James 4: 7Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up

Remember that our Lord works in mysterious ways and the things we are going through are of His will. He will protect us from the evils of failed finances and all that we are confronted with.

(Closing prayer)
Father, Creator of us all, we come to you with love in our hearts and praise in out minds for You. We worship You and fear nothing except Your wrath but know it is not for us but for those that deny You. You are our God and there is no one other than You that can protect us from the evils set upon us by our fellow men.
We call upon You as our El Gibbor, our Rock and our Strength. Allow us to withstand the rigors of the evils sought to be laid upon us.

Father, we pray that our enemies are enlightened by Your Word and should they fail to heed Your many warnings that they be the recipients of Your righteous wrath.

Lord we ask that those elected officials that are properly doing their jobs be rewarded with the strength required to face their opponents. We also ask for You to protect and bless out military, our judges, police and those charged with our national security.

We ask that our brothers and sisters throughout the world remain string in their faith and receive Your many blessings.

We pray these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who is One with You and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever,

Amen, amen and amen.

  1. There was a comment by a person named Rich who inferred I was "paid' to write this sermon. I would like for Rich to know that the ONLY payment I get are God's blessings! I spend an estimated 40-50 hours weekly on my blog and writing sermons. At age 74, soon to be 75, I am doing God's work just as He ordained me to do...Sorry Rich...No collusion here!
