Abortion supporters are at it again by working to defeat a bill which would prohibit taxpayers like you and me from paying for other people's abortions.
Yes, that's right, abortion supporters want the government to pay for elective abortions.
We must work together to pass H.R. 7 the, "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act."
For over 30 years the Hyde Amendment has prevented federal funds from being used to pay for abortions or the administrative costs of healthcare plans which include abortion coverage. For over 30 years Republicans and Democrats have come together to ensure this commonsense approach to abortion is renewed because despite our differences, we should be able to agree that the government should not subsidize the abortion industry.
This year the stakes are even higher to pass H.R. 7 because Obamacare will force taxpayers to assist in paying for elective abortions.
The truth is, Obamacare bypassed the Hyde Amendment and allows federal funds to be used to pay for healthcare plans which include abortion coverage.
H.R. 7 would permanently codify the Hyde Amendment in federal law to ensure that despite what political party is in power, taxpayers will not be on the hook for paying for abortions.
We need you to urge Members to pass H.R. 7!
The Hyde Amendment is just one of many pro-life provisions which must be renewed every year in the appropriations process. Other pro-life provisions that need to be renewed prohibit government funds from being used to pay for abortions in the District of Columbia (the Dornan Amendment) and prohibit federal employee's healthcare benefit plans (FEHBP) from including abortion coverage (Smith Amendment).
These provisions save lives of unborn children! Voice your support for H.R. 7 today!
In 2009 one of these pro-life provisions was not renewed, the Dornan Amendment, and the government paid for 300 abortions in the District of Columbia costing $185,000 of taxpayer dollars before it was renewed!
We cannot let this happen again- we must act to permanently codify these life-saving measures in federal law by supporting H.R. 7!
Abortion is not healthcare yet Americans are being forced to subsidize abortions in the form of tax credits for healthcare plans which could include abortion coverage.

The, "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act," is necessary to protect women and unborn children from abortion. Taxpayers should not be forced to pay for other people's abortions and we urge you to act now .
