| I just read two very interesting articles on the U.S. economy, written from historical perspectives. They compelled me to share my own historical perspective. And what I want to say is more about our changing culture than our economy. One of the articles, by Julie Crawshaw of MoneyNews.com, notes that the “Misery Index”—the combined unemployment and inflation rates—made infamous under President Jimmy Carter, has hit a 28-year high. It’s also 62 percent higher than when President Obama took office. But that’s nothing compared to Mort Zuckerman’s article in U.S. News & World Report. GUNS FROM ‘FAST AND FURIOUS’ FOUND AT MEXICO CRIME SCENES
At least 122 firearms from the botched U.S. undercover operation ‘Fast and Furious’ were found at crime scenes in Mexico caught going to the drug cartels in 48 separate instances.AK-47 assault rifles, powerful .50 caliber rifles and other weapons were among those found at several crime scenes, including at the scene of the murder of a U.S. Border Patrol Agent in Arizona.
Of the 2,000 weapons sold to suspected gun traffickers, nearly half remain unaccounted for as they were never traced after they left the initial buyer.

ILLINOIS REP ARRESTED IN FRONT OF WHITE HOUSE
Pro-Amnesty and DREAM Act supporter Congressman Luis Gutierrez was arrested in front of the White House yesterday afternoon while protesting deportation of illegal immigrants.
Despite the arrest, Rep. Gutierrez was able to make it back to the House Floor in time for the final vote of the day after paying a $100 fine.
About a dozen other individuals were also arrested after ignoring U.S. Park Police warnings to move.
