Rome Had a Senate

A friend and fellow writer sent me an article with a lot of quotes from many famous people throughout history, which gave me the idea for this column.
“Ancient Rome declined because it had a Senate; now look what is happening to us with both a Senate and a House”, and come to think of it; “There ought to be one day– just one– when there is an open season on senators”.
Will Rogers 1879 – 1935; Will Rogers was one of my heroes, actually he still is even though he has been gone for quite a while.
