| Mike Huckabee 2016? I like Mike Huckabee. I carry an endorsement from Mike Huckabee on the title page of my website. Mike Huckabee endorsed my last book. And as Fox News pointed out, I played a role in his 2008 Iowa Caucus victory that made Huckabee a national political figure. So my hope is that what I write next will be received in the spirit it is intended—as friendly advice. Read More |

| You Will Be Made to Care Human nature prefers conflict avoidance, especially when that conflict requires the drawing of moral laws. We would prefer the and-also scenario over the either-or. If there’s a way to put off doing the right (hard) thing, we will most assuredly find it. Read More |
| Senator Cruz: Gang of Eight “Penalizes Businesses” that hire U.S. Citizens Speaking at the Black American Leadership Alliance’s March for Jobs in Washington, D.C. yesterday, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz spoke against the Senate’s recently-passed Gang of Eight immigration bill. | The Politics of Race “White Hispanic.” I almost choked on my plate of nachos when I heard that one. “White Hispanic” sounds eerily like the turn—of—the—last—century, Jim Crow-era definitions of race, which were so arbitrary they are almost laughable in the age of DNA testing to determine genealogical lines. There is nothing scientific about calling someone a “White Hispanic,” yet it has been the label du jour for the media in describing George Zimmerman, the man recently exonerated for killing Trayvon Martin.
