Dear Conservatives,
Have you seen the latest reports? They show that the national debt has reached a mind-numbing $14.6 trillion, and by the end of fiscal year 2011, the federal deficit is projected to set yet another all-time record of $1.5 trillion. That means America is sinking $2.3 million deeper into debt every minute of the day!
To help us combat this unprecedented threat to our nation’s finances, I urge you to take CAGW’sNational Survey to Save America from Bankruptcy. This CAGW survey features 15 proposed budget cuts that combined could save taxpayers more than $90 billion.
The recommendations include:
- Returning $45 billion in unused “Economic Stimulus” funds to the U.S. Treasury;
- Eliminating federal control of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which would save $30 billion;
- Ending Amtrak subsidies, which would save $1.6 billion each year; and,
- Repealing the Depression-era Davis Bacon Act, which by requiring union wages drives up the cost of federal construction projects by more than $1 billion annually.
