| This excellent editorial was written by Nick Gholson,
a columnist for the Times Record News in Wichita Falls, Texas, and
published in September of 1999. Unfortunately, it is being passed around
by e-mail with the attribution of Paul Harvey, as well as Andy
Rooney, probably to give the piece more credibility. Who knows, maybe
Paul Harvey or Andy Rooney wishes he wrote it, but he didn't.
Regardless, it's an outstanding piece. I don't believe in Santa Claus, but I'm not going to sue somebody for singing a Ho-Ho-Ho song in December. I don't agree with Darwin, but I didn't go out and hire a lawyer when my high school teacher taught his theory of evolution. |
