With the recent Senate defeat of the Marxist effort to expand background checks to possess a firearm toward the ultimate goal of confiscation, no one should be under any illusion that it was a victory for liberty.

All this vote did was give We the People more time to educate and inform our fellow citizens about the need to maintain our constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

There have been many very good articles, reports, images, videos and other items that raised awareness among enough of the people to make the difference.

We the People – Alabama intend to compile as much of this information we can collect in order to assemble a resource guide for when the Marxists make their next move.

For our readers who have not heard of Common Core Standards, this issue will be an eye opening experience.

Common Core is the attempt by the federal government to seize control of Alabama’s K-12 education curriculum without the consent

of the people of Alabama or the state legislature. If successful future generations would not be taught about the how and why of our nation’s founding,

or the principles of individual liberty, but would be taught instead obedience to the state. In any case, parents would have no say in what their children are taught.

Also, the South Huntsville Civic Association will sponsor Our 2^nd Amendment at the VBC on February 23, 2013.

Our 2nd Amendment will be an inspirational and educational afternoon.

Those who attend will learn the importance of the 2nd Amendment, what protections exist for

Alabama citizens, and what our representatives expect to happen in Washington D.C.

Most conservative state in America? It's Alabama, by a country mile

Alabama was the most conservative state in the union in 2012, with more than half of state residents describing themselves as politically conservative, according to a new survey released today by Gallup.

The Princeton, N.J.-based polling firm found that 50.6 percent of Alabamians identified their ideology as conservative, the highest among all states. North Dakota and Wyoming tied for second at 48.6 percent, followed by Mississippi (48.2) and Utah (48).

Madison County Alabama Sheriff Blake Dorning appeared on a local TV news broadcast this evening and stated that he swore an oath up to and including giving his life to defend the Constitution of the United States and Constitution of the sovereign State of Alabama and that neither he or any of his Deputies would enforce unconstitutional mandates from the President or Congress that would violate the right of law abiding Madison County citizens to keep and bear arms they deemed appropriate in defense of their lives, families and property.

We the People – Alabama support and endorse Sheriff Dorning’s stance in defense of our republic and urge all Alabama citizens, We the People – Alabamamembers and Alabama Oath Keepers to get in touch with their constitutional State Representatives and County Sheriffs to let them know that We the People will “have their back” when the federal Gestapo comes knocking on Alabama’s borders.
