Reuters is reporting that President Obama is pushing to include medical histories in a national database used to run background checks on gun buyers.

Marrying health records to a national gun database may seem harmless enough -- after all, do we really want the mentally ill purchasing weapons?

But this isn't about keeping the mentally ill from accessing firearms. This is about something far more nefarious.

In yet another example of Washington hypocrisy, U.S. District Judge Rosemary M. Collyer of the D.C. district disregarded the Second Amendment and tossed a lawsuit challenging new reporting requirements for gun dealers – requirements the Obama administration says are needed "to help staunch the flow of powerful rifles to violent Mexican drug gangs."
