The holiday season is right around the corner. This time of year may be difficult for some. With Thanksgiving just a couple of weeks away, now is a good time to take inventory of the things you are thankful for. This sort of positive thinking helps you stay healthy, both mentally and physically. 



Here are a few good news stories to also help boost your spirit --

They don’t usually make uniforms for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in size 5s. But Blauer did, and Blue Line outfitted it with all the patches and enhancements, including Deputy K. Barnes right over the right pocket. Kyson Barnes, age 5, has been devoted to wearing the uniform his grandmother bought him last Halloween as often as he can. This year Sheriff Smith arranged to get him the official variety, down to the finishing touches. Read more here.
ImageShannon Hardin’s Clothes 4 Kids Closet is growing. After running her closet out of a storage unit, Hardin has combined forces with the Christian Service Center to expand her reach. This also prompted Hardin to expand her annual fall clothing drive, which was always around the week of Thanksgiving. During the drive, Hardin is especially hoping to collect jeans, shoes, socks, and underwear, although clothing of all types and sizes are appreciated. Read more here.

Some students know the sacrifices made by veterans. Third-grade students at Hiland Park Elementary School and Tyndall Academy are making cards for the veterans at Clifford Chester Sims State Veterans Nursing Home. In cards, students shared their thoughts and thanked them for their service. Panama City is home to a lot of military families and several children have members who serve. The children know how hard it is when their families go on deployment. Read more here
