Senator Rubio Visits Lee County Post-Hurricane Ian  

  • Senator Rubio and Mrs. Rubio, along with Governor Ron DeSantis and Florida’s First Lady Casey DeSantis, visited the Lee County Emergency Operations Center to discuss ongoing response efforts.  

Surveying the Aftermath of Hurricane Ian

  • Senator Rubio and U.S. Representative Mario Díaz-Balart (R-FL) joined the U.S. Coast Guard to survey the catastrophic damage in Charlotte and Lee Counties.  

Hurricane Ian Makes Landfall, Florida Delegation Requests a Major Disaster Declaration

  • Senator Rubio and Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) led the entire Florida delegation in sending a letter to President Joe Biden in support of Governor Ron DeSantis’ request to approve a Major Disaster Declaration in response to the impact of Hurricane Ian.  

Florida Senators Request Supplemental to Aid Florida

  • Senator Rubio and Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) sent a letter to Senate Committee on Appropriations Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-VT) and Vice Chairman Richard Shelby (R-AL) requesting the committee’s support to develop a disaster supplemental that will provide the necessary assistance for Florida to recover from this devastating hurricane.
