This is one example of why no one trusts judges anymore. ! Unfortunately people have no clue this is not even the tip of the ice berg. All trial courts are so corrupt that if the average American knew what I do, they would be so enraged that all those judges would be swinging from light poles and lots of sell out and incompetent attorneys along with them and the American Bar Ass would be disbanned. Case for kids. Judges who sent kids to juvenile jails for cash kick backs sued and lost. 'Kids-for-cash' scandal JUDGES jailed & ordered to pay $288 million to nearly 300 victims
Two former Pennsylvania judges who ran a scheme to send children to for-profit prisons for kickbacks have been ordered to pay more than $288 million to their victims in one of the worst judicial scandals in US history. US District Judge Christopher Conner awarded $US106 million in compensatory damages and $US100 million in punitive damages to nearly 300 people in a long-running civil suit against the judges, writing that the plaintiffs were "the tragic human casualties of a scandal of epic proportions".In what became known as the kids-for-cash scandal, Mark Ciavarella and Michael Conahan shut down a county-run juvenile detention centre and accepted $US2.8 million in illegal payments from the builder and co-owner of two for-profit lock-ups. Ciavarella, who presided over juvenile court, pushed a zero-tolerance policy that guaranteed large numbers of children would be sent to PA Child Care and its sister facility, Western PA Child Care. Shackled with no chance for defense
Ciavarella ordered children as young as eight to detention, many of them first-time offenders deemed delinquent for petty theft, jaywalking, truancy, smoking on school grounds and other minor infractions.
