FLORIDA - JOE HARDING WEEKLY UPDATE

Friends,

This week has been a monumental week for the protection of women!

This week saw my Senate Companion Bill SB 1798 Sexually Related Offenses pass unanimously in both the House and Senate. A true milestone for the protection of women and men from lax privacy and data policies with Big Tech.

As many of you know HB 1557 Parental Rights in Education has become a target for the radical left all the way from the White House, Liberal Media, and by some of our own Floridians. Yet we won!

Both of these Bills are on the way to the desk of Gov. Ron DeSantis!

A VICTORY FOR WOMEN
SC/HB 1798 SEXUALLY RELATED OFFENSES

As technology and its capabilities become even more accessible to everyone, in terms of editing and distribution, people are falling victim to malicious predators who utilize lax privacy/data policies to victimize others.

This is a threat that can happen to anyone, but a threat many women deal with daily. It is never okay to steal someone’s images or create fake and damaging photos in an attempt to hurt someone.

That is why this bill passed unanimously through both the House and Senate. If we are to protect Floridians, we must act against those who use technology maliciously. If you're sharing an image or sharing a private moment with someone and that person creates digital content to bring you pain and sufferingTHERE WILL BE CONSEQUENCES.

Once again my friends, thank you for your time. I will be sure to update you again next week. Until then, have a great weekend!
Best regards,

Rep. Joe Harding
