On Wednesday, I joined Senator Rick Scott (R-FL), Representative Neal Dunn (R-FL), and leading Republican members of the Florida Congressional Delegation in writing to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra. We urged the Department to reverse its burdensome allocation for monoclonal antibody drugs (mAbs) and return to a state-based model by which states and local healthcare providers can directly order mAbs from drug manufacturers. On Wednesday, I  urged U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Secretary Denis McDonough to provide an explanation for blanket and vague denials of applicants and legacy participants from the Department’s Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC), which provides stipends to veterans for caregiving. At the end of 2021, I joined Senator Mike Braun (R-IN), 47 other Senators, and 140 Representatives in filing an amicus brief to the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) in the upcoming case considering the Biden Administration’s top-down Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) requiring private employers with more than 100 employees to mandate the COVID-19 vaccine or test weekly.
