On Wednesday, Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) and I sent a letter to President Joe Biden following the U.S. State Department’s decision to remove the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) from the State Department’s list of designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs). Read more here .

On Wednesday, Senators Rick Scott (R-FL), Thom Tillis (R-NC), Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Mike Braun (R-IN), Josh Hawley (R-MO), Tom Cotton (R-AR), John Boozman (R-AR), Roger Marshall (R-KS), Steve Daines (R-MT), James Lankford (R-OK), Mike Lee (R-UT), and I sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin expressing our concern that the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD)’s recently established Countering Extremism Working Group (CEWG) could be used to “target service members who voice opposition to woke, Leftist ideology under the guise of protecting our ‘national security interest.’” Read more here .

On Tuesday, I sent a letter to A.G. Sulzberger, chairman of The New York Times Company and publisher of the New York Times , following reports that the New York Times is withholding documents, including a “Top Secret” speech Xi Jinping gave in 2014, that directly links Xi and top Communist Party officials to the ongoing genocide of Uyghur Muslims in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Legislation Introduced

  • On Thursday, Senators Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Rick Scott (R-FL), Alex Padilla (D-CA), and I introduced the NASA Enhanced Use Leasing Extension Act of 2021 , which would extend NASA’s enhanced use lease (EUL) authority for two years to December 31, 2023.   • On Thursday, I introduced the Space Protection of American Command and Enterprise (SPACE) Act to address the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) ongoing effort to replace the United States as the global leader of space industry under its Made in China 2025 industrial plan. Read more here 

  • On Thursday, Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and I introduced the Charlotte Woodward Organ Transplant Discrimination Prevention Act , which would ensure that providers cannot discriminate against patients in need of an organ transplant solely on the basis of a disability. Read more here .

  • On Tuesday, Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) and I introduced legislation to reauthorize the Haitian Hemisphere Opportunity through Partnership Encouragement (HOPE) Act and the Haitian Economic Lift Program (HELP) Act . Read more here .
