Dear Friend, 

This week, as we celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friends, I challenge you to list off the things you’re most thankful for. I’m thankful for my family, my friends, and the opportunity to represent one of the most generous districts in the country. Here are a few news stories about constituents doing good deeds throughout Florida-02 --

After losing their two children in a tragic car accident, the Kirchgessners are committed to giving back to the community in memory of Addie and Baylor. The Kirchgessners recently partnered with Scholastic Book Fair to give every student at West Bay Elementary the chance to pick two books to read and keep for free. Their mother, Lauren Kirchgessner, said it’s an honor to carry on the legacy of Addie and Baylor. Read more here.

This holiday season, a Suwannee County teenager is on a mission to make more senior citizens feel loved and appreciated. Through “Socks For Seniors,” 15-year-old Rhaine Hart-Vasey is delivering holiday gift bags to eight nursing homes in Suwannee, Hamilton, and Lafayette counties. This year, Rhaine’s goal is to raise $2,000 and deliver gifts to 735 seniors. The community fundraiser runs through Thursday, Dec. 9. Read more here.

Two hometown heroes are giving back to the community they grew up in. CEO Ryan and Rowdy Lawson, owners of Lawson & Lawson electrical services company are known for giving back to their community. This year, they’re combatting food insecurity by helping local families put food on their tables. Additionally, the brothers are challenging businesses to join their efforts to help local families. Read more here.
