A lot of great things are happening in our district! Our schools and community programs are getting the recognition they deserve, and this dose of positivity is certainly welcomed. Here are some stories sure to brighten your week --

GREAT NEWS - Florida State University maintained its ranking among the Top 20 public universities in the country in U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Colleges 2022” guidebook for the third consecutive year. Additionally, Florida A&M University moved up 13 slots on the list – from 117 to 104 – making FAMU the highest-ranking historically black college or university in the country for the third consecutive year. Well done!

Visit Florida recently announced the recipients of their 2021 annual Flagler Awards and the Gulf County Tourist Development Council was awarded Silver in the Rural County Marketing category for their “Wade in” COVID-19 Response and Recovery Campaign. The Franklin County Tourism Development Council was awarded the 2021 Henry award from Visit Florida for the Forgotten Coast Mobile App. Congratulations to both teams!

The Suwannee High School Agriculture Program received a $50,000 donation from Pilgrim’s Pride to improve the agricultural center. Pilgrim’s Pride’s contribution is a part of their Hometown Strong Initiative to help strengthen the company’s ongoing partnership with the community through meaningful investments. This donation will make a positive impact on the Suwannee Ag program and FFA programs. Thank you, Pilgrim’s Pride! Read more here.
