The First take: Many were called, most showed up. With Joe Biden out of the country, the vice president had a "party." Well, it was a dinner party meant to bring all of the female seniors together. Two Republican senators (Cindy Hyde-Smith, Cynthia Lummis) sent their regrets and one Democrat (Kyrsten Sinema) skipped what we're sure was a scintillating evening talking about everything but the crisis on our southern border.
