One time in history America was considered “the Promise Land.” Today we are witnesses to millions illegally coming to this “Promise Land” but not with wanting to keep America great, or even wanting to contribute but simply wanting to take as much as possible as soon as possible for as long as possible.
This is far, far different than what our founders taught and believed, and expected. America was founded as a Covenant Nation. A Covenant…is a word very rarely heard in America today, for it speaks of a commitment to Christ and to one another which is deeper and more demanding than most of us are willing to make. Our Forefathers made such a covenant – to one another and to God and the Judeo-Christian principles which our founding documents portray. Our Forefathers made a covenant to God to make this country exceptional, in that, it would be governed and led by the Judeo-Christian principles written into our founding documents; yes, the very documents we once use to study in school but no more.This segment of ARIZONA TODAY brings this almost forgotten truth back. I hold a most deliberate conversation with Rabbi Jack Zimmerman, Senior Evangelist for Jewish Voice Ministries. We most plainly talk about what is transpiring across America as our country erases its’ roots, along with the lessons written in such hallowed documents as The Declaration of Independence, The Bill of Rights, The Constitution. This conversation begins a series of talks on these and related topics.
