Five states have nearly half of all the nation's new COVID cases

Headline: These 5 states have nearly half of nation’s new COVID-19 cases

The First take: We know viruses have no political affiliations. But we did check the political leanings of the five states with new surges in COVID cases. Four of the five states are very blue with Florida being the lone exception. The latest spike in cases does seem to be focused on the eastern part of the country. Is there a new wave coming? We hope not, but keeping an eye on it.

Is Biden "evolving" on MLB boycott of GA and OK with Masters staying?

Headline: Joe Biden Backtracks After MLB Boycott Costs Georgians $100+ Million, Says Masters Tourney Can Stay

The First take: It appears to us that President Biden may be waffling a bit on the subject of moving the All-Star Game out of Atlanta... businesses in a country that helped you win the state losing $100 million might have something to do with that. When asked about moving the upcoming Masters tournament, Mr. Biden openly supported the decision to keep it in Georgia. Politicians always seem to find clarity on something when money is involved.

The First take: Can you really claim to be "shocked" to find a homeless encampment at your child's school when you allowed an autonomous zone to exist in your city and approved the defunding of police as regular riots attacked police stations and other government offices? Shocked? Please take your false outrage somewhere else.

The First take: We're not sure you can take credit for sustaining your sobriety if you are using psychedelic toad venom to keep you away from smoking crack or parmesan cheese. We genuinely hope Hunter Biden is victorious in his battle against drugs and alcohol, we're just saying the jury's out on this method.
