THOMAS MORE SOCIETY 03/13/2021

 Dear Conservatives,

I never thought I’d see the day when animal-rights activists came to the defense of a pro-life hero.

Let me explain.

You may remember that Judge Orrick ruled against undercover journalist David Daleiden in the lawsuit brought against him by Planned Parenthood – an unjust ruling we immediately appealed!

Now, we’re waiting for our day in court at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

In the meantime, several groups filed amicus curiae or “friend of the court” briefs with the court in support of David.

These briefs were for the most part filed by individuals and organizations you would expect...

…including 20 state attorneys general, Judicial Watch, Project Veritas, Lila Rose's Live Action, and pro-life and pro-free speech organizations.

While we are very pleased and grateful that these folks came to David’s aid, we were not particularly surprised to have their support.

However, we were especially pleased when People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), Mercy For Animals, and the Government Accountability Project filed a brief in support of David.

It appears that by attacking David for his undercover work exposing its trafficking of aborted baby body parts, Planned Parenthood inadvertently ruffled the feathers of organizations like PETA that do undercover journalism of their own and want the protection of the law while doing so.

You see, no journalist has ever been as persecuted as young David has for his life-saving work.

Which is why it’s crucial that we win this appeal, but we can’t do it without you.

Will you continue to stand with David with a generous gift of $35 or more today?

Politics sometimes makes for strange bedfellows and even organizations that may not usually side with the pro-life movement have now come to David’s aid to protect their own First Amendment rights.

After all, there is no “abortion-provider exception” to the First Amendment.

Activist organizations and news companies around the nation routinely use undercover journalists to investigate and report stories that wouldn’t otherwise be told.

It’s clear that the ruling against David is unjust and threatens everyone’s constitutional rights to freedom of speech and freedom of the press.

Which is why I’m asking you to help keep us in the fight with a donation of $35 or more right now.

With your support, we’re committed to fighting and winning this battle.

Though the road ahead of us may be long, I’m convinced that the truth will ultimately emerge triumphant.

Thank you for your continued support.

Gratefully,

Andrew Bath
